The ghost-like mirror image of the unattainable woman, the rosette as a symbol of suffrage or a pity trophy for participating in life with little value ascribed. The barbed wire blocking her path, the violent looking bunting symbol of women in churches. And the woman split in half by her need to speak out for injustice and yet labelled as Jezebel for her efforts. It resonates right?
